Transformations: A tutorial

Transformations is a poetry tutorial offered by Fairfax poet Joseph Zaccardi. It is a one-on-one course of six two-hour sessions, over the course of six weeks. Open to all levels of proficiency, each lesson plan is individually designed to meet the needs of the participant. Below is a list of some of the areas devoted to the study of poetry and creativity:

Philosophy: The voices of Sartre, St. Augustine and Confucius

Demarcation and Space
Translation and Rethinking
Form, Transform and Reform

Each week you will be asked to bring in a poem by someone other than yourself and a poem you wrote. There will not be a critique of these poems but rather an in depth probe into what the poem says, what the poet aspires toward and what the poem allows the reader to feel.

We will meet either in one of our homes, an office or space conducive to discussion; time of day, day of the week, is flexible. The cost of the course is $150.00. No one will be turned away because of an inability to pay. There is an application process to determine the individual needs of each applicant. There is usually a two to three month waiting period to allow for scheduling.
